Total Excitement!
My day started out like any other day. I got up, had my caffeine fix, watched Tennessee Mornings, talked to my Mom, checked my email and blogs, ate breakfast, washed my hair, and went to Target. Well, I don't go to Target every morning, but I usually find a reason to shop for something. I got home and Craig told me "I have somewhere I want to take you today, but I am not telling you where because you will protest." I was thinking Lowe's or Home Depot. After lunch, I started asking questions. "Do I need my bathing suit? Do I need to dress up?" Craig said, "none of the above." I knew something was up when he asked me if I had my keys. We usually don't take my car, so I had a vague idea of where we were going. We headed down the Interstate where we took the Broadway exit downtown. He pulled in to Beaman Toyota, GMC, Scion, etc. I was a little puzzled. I thought we had ruled out a new ride. He had this quick talk about how my car was too small, I need something bigger, it is a good time. I went along with it. (Why wouldn't I?) I test drove a GMC Terrain first and realized it was way too big for me. Then I drove a Rav4 and loved it! At that point, I quickly looked at the Camry and Highlander and knew the Rav was the one. So, 5 hours later, I was the owner of a brand new 2011 Rav4 Sport 4WD. I love her. She is everything I ever wanted in a car. Don't tell anyone, but I have already been downstairs twice this morning to look at her. I know I made the right choice for me. She is perfect.

Kitchen and Office Redecorama
After many hours of throwing bags and bags of trash away, I finally made the office look like I wanted. I have never spent so much time trying to organize a space in my life. I think we can officially say that the Dore's are somewhat packrat's. At least one member of the family doesn't like to throw things away. I won't throw out any names:) I am really happy with the outcome. What do you think?
Now for the kitchen table. As I mentioned before, our seagrass stools are on raincheck at World Market. We will have to wait 2-4 weeks to get them, but until then, we are using some Ikea stools that I have had forever. The table makes my kitchen look so much larger. I love the bar height table in there. It makes me feel like I have my own kitchen island with stools. I am eagerly awaiting the day that we get the phone call that our stools have come in.
Sorry it is a little dark. The sun went in about the time that I took the picture. |

Pub Table vs Desk?
Craig and I sold our massive office desk and went on a mission to find a new desk for the office. We went all over town not finding what we wanted. Craig insisted that we go home and look at the space again to figure out what we wanted to buy. I insisted that we continue to look. I was tired of looking at the clutter in my living room and the empty office. After visiting World Market, Office Max, Office Depot, our fav furniture store; Nadeau, and Costco, we ended up back at World Market. The desks that we saw had no storage, which was an issue for
Ignore the stools. We didn't get those. |
The actual stools that we got are taller. I can't wait to get them! |
