Lots of Changes in the New Year!

First of all, I have been thinking for weeks that I needed to update my blog. I apologize for having Christmas posts on it for too long. It's inexcusable! We had a great holiday season and so far a good January. Here are a few changes in the Dore household.

  • I turned the big 33 on December 28. Craig took me back to my favorite cabin in Monteagle, TN. It was so much fun. He even surprised me this year (which never happens!)
  • I was able to visit with my family several days after Christmas. I even saw my aunt, uncle and cousins from Minnesota. They went with us to one of my favorite spots, Sewanee, TN.
  • We adopted a sweet pooch named Barley right after Christmas. We fell in love with him at the Metro Animal Control and brought him home immediately. He is a golden retriever/chow mix. He even likes his crate. Guinness is not to keen on a new dog in the house, but hopefully he will get over it.
  • Now for a bit of sad news, I just found out today that my 89 year old grandmother passed away today. She had dementia and has been suffering for a while. I am glad to see her go to a better place. Now she is not suffering.
I hope that 2012 ends up being as good as 2011. Lots of changes happened in 2011 in the Dore household. Between Craig's new nursing career, new cars, and a new dog, I am not sure we can top it this year. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
