It Was Only a Swipe.

Yesterday I begged Craig to go with me to Southeastern Salvage to see if they still had a table I wanted. To my surprise, he agreed to go. We made the trek across town and it wasn't there anymore. Lucky Craig. After eating Mexican for lunch, I requested that we go to another one of my favorite stores nearby....Merridian. I looked around and didn't find anything that jumped out at me. Craig found the most wonderful console table that he was in love with. Needless to say, the price was a little higher than we were comfortable with. We left the store and went home. We dreamed about it for a few more hours and then we decided to go to another cheaper store with similar furniture. They had a similar piece for cheaper, but we weren't happy with it. It wasn't the perfect piece from the other store. We made the executive decision that we had to have it, so we made the trek to Merridian once again and bought it! Now it is in my house and I love it! My back may hurt from moving the other furniture, but it is worth it. Notice the cute mirror too. I had spotted it a few weeks ago at Marshall's and it was still there. Mom always told me, "it's only a swipe."

Mr. Sammy

I couldn't resist taking this picture when I saw Sammy in the kitchen sunbathing by the back door. He is obsessed with looking out the door. This morning he was talking about something for about 10 minutes non-stop. It was hilarious. Ok, I confess, I don't have kids, so taking pictures of my animals is the next best thing:)

Spring Spruce Up's

It came to my attention the other day, that Craig thought our old kitchen chairs were too big. While I was cooking dinner, he decided to move the entire table in a weird position that I hated. Just for the record, he loves to aggravate me when it comes to decorating things around the house. We had some other chairs in the basement that we salvaged from a friends estate sale. The chairs are a much better fit and I really like them. I am also super excited about the two new stools that I found today at Southeastern Salvage. I have been looking online for a week looking for the right 18 inch stools. They were all too expensive or not the right size. I was so excited to spot them today at SES. They were trying to sell them in a weird set of a tall one and short one, but I talked them into selling me two short ones for the same price. They are exactly what I was looking for. They even have a cushioned top.
The chairs are a much better fit for our kitchen. They are rustic and I love them.

My cute new stool. Don't ya love it?
