Ok, I admit, it sounds a little like Pee Wee's Big Adventure, but it wasn't really that exciting. For Valentine's Day, Craig bought us tix to The Band Perry concert at The Ryman Auditorium downtown Nashville. They call it the Motherchurch of Country Music and there is a good reason why. I absolutely love to watch bands play at The Ryman. It is always a great show.
Last night began with a trip to our favorite neighborhood Logan's for happy hour specials. We then headed down I40 to downtown Nashville. Despite the way too expensive parking (13 buckaroos,) we had a great time. We started the downtown journey at Legend's Corner where we had an adult beverage. We were a little upset to see that the band was done playing when we sat down. Then we walked over to The Ryman to see the concert. It was a stretch for us to be out on a Monday night, but even more of a stretch for us to be out past dark!
The concert was extremely worth it. The highlight of the evening for me was when they sang "If I Die Young." Kimberly, the head singer, sang "Amazing Grace." It was one of the best versions of that song that I have ever heard!
Thank you, Craig for the great night out. I can't wait to see another great show at The Ryman soon. I wonder who it will be?
