Keeping Up With the Dore's

Sorry for the horrible reality show title, but that is how I have felt the past few weeks. It all began with our Fall Break trip to Gatlinburg with may wonderful parents. Let's just say, that Craig and I (we all) had a great time. We stayed at The Wilderness at the Smokie's Resort in Pigeon Forge, TN. It just happens to have an indoor water park! I reverted back to childhood for an entire day. The rest of our trip consisted of shopping, eating, sightseeing, and plenty of R & R.

So, then the next week we went to Memphis, TN and Tunica, MS. for Mom's 65th birthday celebration. It was a blast. We began  the trip by eating at Uncle Louie's Fried Chicken (which was shown on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives on the Food Network. It was awesome! We shopped at the Pottery Barn, Williams Sanoma, and West Elm outlet where I found a king quilt that was originally over $100 that was marked down to $39.99! I am the queen of bargains. We ate at The Rendezvous, rode on the trolley, and went to Beale Street for some fun. On Saturday we ate at The Arcade Restaurant, visited the Lorainne Motel (where MLK got shot) and did some additional shopping. In Tunica, we continued the festivities at the casino's and Mom and I shopped at The Gap Outlet and we ate dinner and breakfast at Paula Deen's Buffet. It was amazing! Happy Birthday, Mom. Thanks for a great trip.
